Decluttering Tips

Like the idea of living a simple, uncluttered life with less stuff?

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious and defeated around the idea of decluttering your home?

Take a few deep breaths and have a look at a few tips we have pulled together, your decluttering journey need not be as painful as you think!

  1. Create a HANG, LAUNDER or FOLD rule at the end of each day
  2. Give yourself 5 minutes each day to focus on decluttering, pick a room or area for each day to complete
  3. Minimilising table decor makes for a bigger & cleaner looking space
  4. Every night put out-of-place items back where they belong
  5. Designate a place for keys, wallets and bags & Stick To It
  6. Arranging your shoes by type instantly makes it look more orderly & neat
  7. Periodically review your household items and get rid of anything you don't love
  8. The Four Box Method - buy four boxes, one for trash, give away, keep & relocate.  Place items in each room into one of the four categories and consider all items carefully
  9. Fill one trash bag - simple technique of trying to fill it, mostly with garbage but can also be used to fill a bag for Goodwill
  10. Read a book for more ways to declutter your home to help you achieve your desired minimilist lifestyle!
